About the Event

An afternoon in-person workshop to explore reconnecting, using yoga nidra as a tool.

The last year or so has seen many of us feel disconnected from our previous way of being, from our friends and family, from workplaces and from social activity. Whether you want to reconnect with the world post-pandemic, your body, the natural planet Earth, your ancestors, your deeper consciousness or something else, this workshop will allow you to relax and have time for remaking old connections and maybe exploring new ones.

The afternoon is structured around three yoga nidra sessions leading you to relax more deeply each time, and to progressively work with the theme of reconnection. There will be only some optional incredibly gentle stretches – no yoga “poses” and no need to share any deep desires or harboured intentions. There will be opportunities to explore different aspects of reconnection, to use your imagination and ideas to inform your yoga nidra sessions and you'll go away with a physical memento/keepsake you can use to remind you of your reconnection intention in the coming months.

No previous yoga or yoga nidra experience needed. This is not a physical practice. All welcome.

Yoga nidra is a technique designed to effortlessly guide you into a state of complete "non-doing". Your body is completely relaxed and you can rest in a space where you may enter a state of expanded awareness and deep relaxation, where peace is accessible beyond reliance on external circumstances. It has been shown that a session of nidra is equivalent to up to 4 hours of sleep due to the type of brain waves experienced along the way. This restorative practice can be applied in many different ways, whether you want to have a good night's sleep, feel less stressed or find self-realisation. However you approach it, nidra's regenerative meditative state helps benefit both body and mind, restoring and rejuvenating, for greater mental and emotional balance and resilience.

Why not treat yourself to a relaxing and creative afternoon?!
